We currently have a full-time position available within our Building Control team based in Cromwell, and while our preference is for a qualified building inspector, if you have substantial experience in the building/construction industry and are you looking for a change or have been working in the building control environment and want to make the next step….we want to hear from you today!

 

Job Description

Building Control Officer

Responsibilities:

  • The role is responsible for both processing and inspections and would be part of a skilled building team with exceptional administrative support.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • A professional qualification in the building industry at a minimum level of one or more of the following is required:
  • Diploma in Building Surveying
  • New Zealand Certificate in Building or equivalent
  • Craftsman Plumber and Registered Drainlayer
  • Advanced Trade Certificate in Building
  • Multi-Skilled Officers Certificate
  • Excellent communication skills and computer knowledge with a desire to work collaboratively to achieve the right outcomes
  • Have a good working knowledge of current building code and legislation
  • Significant experience in building control functions including plan processing and inspections (preferred but not essential)
  • Hold a current driver’s licence
