Central Otago District Libraries is looking for a Library Learning Coordinator to lead the design and delivery of programmes and activities for all ages, from babies to seniors.
This is a role for someone who loves people, loves libraries, and wants to make a real difference in our community.
Create, plan, and deliver engaging library programmes for children, youth, adults, newcomers, and seniors.
Support our smaller libraries with programme planning and ideas.
Assess current programmes to ensure they meet the needs of our community.
Apply for grants to support events and programming.
Carry out frontline library duties as part of the Alexandra team.
Build strong relationships with community groups, partners, and stakeholders.
Hours are approximately 30 hours per week across Mon- Friday with a rostered Saturday and availability to run library events or activities outside of normal hours is a must.
You’ll be part of a friendly, committed library team and play an important role in bringing people together through lifelong learning and connection.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:
Friendly, outgoing, creative, and community‑focused.
Confident speaking to groups and delivering activities for a wide age range.
Experienced in customer service or community-facing roles.
Skilled with online tools and technology.
Able to plan, organise, and lead projects from idea to delivery.
A strong communicator — both written and verbal.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Innovative and able to think outside the box.
Qualifications & Experience:
A qualification in a related area.
Experience delivering events, programmes, or activities.
Experience applying for grants (an advantage).
A current full driver licence.
