This role plays a key part in launching and growing the venue by building its brand and driving community and audience engagement. It includes securing sponsorships and partnerships, and delivering marketing activity that boosts venue hire, event participation, and revenue. Working collaboratively across the organisation, it strengthens visibility, supports effective communication, and helps create a vibrant, community‑focused facility.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Sponsorship Lead Job Description 

  • Build the brand and public profile of the new venue 
  • Drive community engagement and strengthen relationships with key partners and audiences
  • Secure sponsorship and partnerships that support financial sustainability
  • Delivers marketing and communications that enhance visibility and stakeholder trust
  • Support growth in venue bookings, event attendance, and revenue 
  • Work collaboratively across teams to contribute to a positive, community-centred culture

Desired Skills and Experience

About you: 

  • Proven experience in marketing, partnerships, sponsorships or business development
  • Strong relationship-building skills, ideally within corporate or community partnership environments
  • Proficiency in digital marketing (social, CMS, email marketing, analytics)
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environments
  • Strategic thinker with strong creative and analytic capability
  • Experience in events, venues, tourism, arts, culture, or hospitality desirable 
  • Competence in CRM tools, digital content creation, and campaign execution
  • Collaborative, positive and solutions-focused
  • Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholder groups
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred but not essential
