Job Description
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Pool Crew members to join our team at Cromwell Pool. This role is at the heart of our aquatic facility, ensuring every visitor has a safe, enjoyable and welcoming experience. Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor, you will be an important part of a dedicated team that takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a safe environment for our community every single day.
What you will be doing:
Actively supervise the pool and aquatic areas to ensure the safety of all users
Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and assist customers in difficulty
Maintain a high standard of facility cleanliness and presentation
Monitor and uphold all facility rules, procedures and health and safety protocols
Process admissions and sales accurately and assist with retail and programme enquiries
Set up and pack down equipment for pool sessions and programmes
Attend staff meetings and training sessions and take an active role in team development
Report any incidents, accidents or ongoing issues to the Pool Team Leader promptly
Hold or be willing to obtain a New Zealand Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC)
Hold or be willing to obtain a current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate
Ability to swim 200 metres front crawl continuously in under 6 minutes
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
Reliable, punctual and a strong team player
Proactive, enthusiastic and committed to high standards
Previous experience in an aquatic or customer-facing role is beneficial but not essential
