Māniatoto Library is a valued community hub where people come to learn, connect and discover. We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Library Assistant to help deliver exceptional library services to our community especially our younger customers as we have a unique relationship with the school. Reporting to the Māniatoto Library Team Leader, this permanent part-time position plays an important role in providing welcoming customer service, supporting library programmes, maintaining collections and helping customers access digital resources and technology.
The Māniatoto Library serves both the wider community and local schools, with students being regular and valued users of the library's services.
About you:
- Customer service experience in a public-facing environment
- Strong digital literacy and confidence using technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to assist customers with patience and professionalism
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An interest in books, reading and community learning
- The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and creating positive experiences for them.
