Becks Hall is a valued local community facility used by residents, groups, and visitors. We are looking for a reliable Casual Cleaner to help keep the hall clean, tidy, safe, and welcoming for everyone who uses it.
This role supports the Becks Hall Committee by carrying out cleaning duties when required, reporting maintenance or safety issues, and helping ensure the hall is ready for bookings and community use.
The Casual Cleaner is responsible for providing a high standard of cleaning at Becks Hall. Cleaning will be carried out after bookings, before bookings where required, and at other times agreed with the Becks Hall Committee.
The role reports to the Becks Hall Committee and includes regular cleaning, occasional deeper cleaning tasks, and reporting any maintenance, stock, vandalism, or health and safety matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitise toilets, hand basins, kitchen areas, benches, shelves, windowsills, and other surfaces as required.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wash floors in the bathrooms, kitchen, kitchenette, and hall areas.
- Replenish toilet paper, paper hand towels, and other consumables where stock is available.
- Clean pie warmers, ranges, fridges, windows, cupboards, and other areas as required.
- Report low stock levels, maintenance issues, breakdowns, hazards, damage, or vandalism to the Becks Hall Committee.
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely, following product instructions and safe work practices.
- Report vandalism immediately and only clean up where it is safe to do so.
- Carry out other reasonable cleaning-related duties requested by the Becks Hall Committee.
About you:
We are looking for someone practical, reliable, and comfortable working independently. Previous cleaning experience would be helpful, but the most important thing is a good attitude and pride in keeping the hall clean for the community.
- Previous cleaning experience, ideally in a public, community, or commercial setting.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work to a clean and tidy standard.
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to show initiative.
- Friendly, respectful, and comfortable communicating with the Becks Hall Committee.
- Awareness of safe cleaning practices, including safe use and storage of cleaning products.
- Physically able to carry out cleaning duties such as standing, bending, sweeping, mopping, and light lifting.
- A positive, service-oriented approach and pride in supporting the local community.
